About Favicon Generator
A favicon is the small icon shown in browser tabs, bookmarks and on the home screen of phones. Modern sites need it in several sizes and formats, and this generator makes all of them from one picture.
Upload a square PNG (512×512 pixels works best). The tool resizes it with high-quality resampling, builds a multi-size favicon.ico file and adds PNG icons for Apple touch and Android, all packed in one ZIP archive.
Features
- Multi-resolution favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48 px images in one file
- PNG icons for Apple touch and Android home screens
- Transparency is preserved
- Everything downloaded as one ZIP archive
How to use it
- Prepare a square PNG image, ideally 512×512 pixels.
- Choose the file or drag it into the upload area.
- Click "Convert" and download the ZIP with all icons.
- Upload the icons to your site root and add the link tags to your page head.
Frequently asked questions
Why only PNG?
PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges, which are important for small icons.
My icon looks blurry in the tab.
Very detailed images do not scale down well to 16 pixels. Use a simple shape or a bold letter.
